Tips for Clearing CPT exam
HI All,

Your CPT exam is near now. SO, i hope ur preparing very well 4 ur studies.
Here are some tips for you to score goods marks.

1) If you are not from Maths background, then plz keep it in ur mind that u have to get passing marks out of 150.
2) Before Starting revision any chapter of accounts, first study whole theory of that chapter and then only solve 1 or two questions from examples. But solve Maximum questions from EXERCISE.
3) Prepare Mercantile Law & Economics Very well. These are scoring papers. Maths is not a scoring paper.
4)In economics 1st complete Macro economics then go for micro economics. Macro Economics also very scoring.
5) IN Quantitative Aptitude, Differentiation and integration, Correlation and regression and theoritical distribution is important one.
6) And make the Strategy to solve M. LAW paper 1st in examination and then Economics, because u will get more time to solve accounts.
7) Please WORK hard in studies, because there is no Short cuts for Success. But you can do your work Systematically, Which will help you to go to the path of Success.

Tips to remember
* STUDY! None of these tips are a substitute for knowing the subject matter. People who know their subject are able to get much higher scores on tests .

* Survey the entire test. Read the directions carefully, making sure you understand exactly what is expected. Don't let your worry trick you into reading too fast and missing something important.

* Read each question carefully, underlining key words if it's possible to write on exams. Don't read into questions what's not there. Read ALL of the answer options before choosing one. You may discover a later answer is even more correct than an earlier one.

* ****Pass over the difficult or debatable questions on your first reading and then come back after completing those you are sure about.

* How should you handle questions you don't know?
Use information from other questions. Eliminate options that you know are wrong. If two answers say the same thing in different words, they are both probably wrong (unless two answers can be correct). If opposite answers are used, often one of them is correct. Watch for consistent grammatical structure between the question and answer.
Look for qualifying words: questions having statements with all, always and never are generally wrong than questions that use general words like sometimes, often and seldom.

* If you know you made an error, change your first answer. If it is just a guess, often your first impression is correct.

* Review your test for careless errors. Try to be the LAST to leave the exam, not the first.

Multiple Choice Tests

* Anticipate the answer and then look for it. Read all the choices before answering. When your anticipated answer is not one of the choices, discard it and concentrate on the others systematically. Discard options that are clearly wrong. Don't settle for the first correct answer; look for the most complete one.

* When two or more choices look correct, compare them with each other. Decide what makes them different. Choose the more encompassing or longest option unless the question requires a specific answer.

*  If the question is long and complex, find the subject and verb and underline, if allowed.

*  If a question is in the negative--for example, "one of the following is not a cause," it will help you to look for three true answers and the one remaining false answer will be the correct one.
*  More general statements are likely to be correct than specific statements, especially if you can think of one exception.

*  If you are confused by the language of the question, try to break it down or rephrase it so it says the same thing in simpler language.

*  Read the question together with your answer. Check to see if it makes sense, grammatically and otherwise.

*  Remember that "none of the above" is a genuine option, and often is the correct answer.

*  Frequently check your answer sheet with your question sheet to make sure your numbering corresponds.

* Tick the questions that you have answered.

*  Watch your time. Skip difficult questions and first finish all easy ones then come back and solve difficult ones.

*****  When you LEAVE a question don't just simply leave it, since you have already read the question you ll know the difficulty level, so you must put a grade in the question paper( like a or b or c)
a - simple
b-medium
c-Hard
So that on your second round you should concentrate on all "a" first. Once all the "a" are done then go for "b" & then "C". This saves you reading time. You may also re-grade the question to a higher grade if its more difficult thatn you thought and then leave it.
